Workshopping Insights into Youth

Katikati Community Led Development engaged the Design Factory NZ/WINTEC to present a one day workshop utilising the Design Thinking approach to support our understanding of the data we’d collected from local youth and to inform decision making for future actions to make Katikati a better place for youth.

The workshop introduced us to the basics of problem solving through Design Thinking using a design thinking model designed for guiding problem solving and participation. The model ‘The Double Diamond’ developed by the Design Council in the UK - utilised four distinct stages - Discover Define Develop Deliver.

On 28th September 2024, a group of about 20, consisting of rangataki, Steering Group Members, Youth Advocates and tamariki, gathered at Pātuki Manawa, Katikati for a journey of discovery.
