Join the Katikati Community-Led Development Steering Group

Volunteer Opportunity – Make a Difference for Local Youth


We’re looking for one or two passionate community members to join the Katikati Community-Led Development (KKCLD) Steering Group. This is a voluntary role where you’ll help guide youth-focused initiatives that create real impact in our town.


Time Commitment

• Monthly in-person meeting: First Wednesday morning of each month (2 hours)

• Optional catch-up: Tuesday 11am Zooms


Who We’re Looking For

• Ideally connected with youth and active in a local community organisation

• Passionate about community led development and collaborative leadership

• Ready to contribute ideas, strategy, and support


What the Steering Group Does

We provide strategic direction, governance, and support to our part-time contractors and oversee key projects, like our current focus: enhancing the Katikati Skatepark.


Our contract with the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) runs until 31 October 2025, and we’re committed to delivering meaningful, youth-led outcomes in that time.


Support a Great Team

Along with three other Steering Group members, you’ll help guide three part-time contractors:

• Admin/Marketing (7.5 hrs/week)

• Youth Connector (7.5 hrs/week)

• Funding & Project Coordinator (15 hrs/week)
